Cobalt Aquatics' Aquarium Salt is a naturally derived solar salt that is used to help reduce stress of freshwater fish. Cobalt Aquarium salt helps fish "slime up" and replenishes natural electrolytes that can be easily lost when fish are stressed. If the tank water quality is not ideal and nitrite is present, the use of Cobalt Aquarium salt will temporarily block the toxic effects of nitrite to the fish until the water quality can be improved. Unlike table salt, Cobalt Aquarium salt contains no artificial color or iodine and contains calcium chloride, magnesium chloride, magnesium sulfate, and sodium chloride.
INGREDIENTS: SODIUM CHLORIDE, SULFATE, CALCIUM, MAGNESIUM
DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
To treat your main display tank, salt should be mixed in a recommended dosage of 1 Tbsp for every 5 gallons of water. To use as a bath to treat external parasites (Tricodina, Ichthyobodo, or Epistylis) mix at 1/4 cup Cobalt Aquarium salt per gallon of dechlorinated water and dip the fish in the bath for 5-10 mins. When dip is complete, acclimate the fish by diluting the bath with fresh dechlorinated water multiple times for a 2-3 minute span until the bath has doubled in volume before putting back in main display with normal water conditions. Bath may be repeated in 24 hours if required.
To hatch brine shrimp eggs: Add 1/2 cup for each gallon of water.
For goldfish bowls: Add a 1/2 teaspoon per gallon of water.
